Sostanza cafe review
Sostanza is a bistro that offers delicious food with a touch of true individuality, which is something I really look for when it comes to eating out. Their menu has a true uniqueness to it that makes ordering quite exciting. When it comes to combining flavours they really got it right.
Another thing that grabs me about Sostanza is their friendliness. It doesn’t matter which waiter or waitress is on shift, I always have the pleasure of receiving excellent service. Out of all the restaurants and bistros in Cape Town, this one definitely makes me feel the most welcome.
Although the foods on the menu vary quite a bit at Sostanza, each meal exudes freshness. The croissants, muffins, breads, cakes, and other sweet little treats are all freshly baked on the premises, and all sinfully delicious. Their chocolate cake has to be the best I have ever tasted. It’s rich, dense and full of chocolate.
Over the last year I have become quite a fan of their breakfasts. Whether you are a fan of creamy scrambled eggs or over easy fried eggs, you won’t be disappointed. Both are as good as the other. I also love their French toast which is made with a fruit loaf accompanied with stewed fruit and crème fresh. This dish is quite a big portion so make sure you have a big appetite before ordering it.
So whether you are ordering their large ploughman’s lunch, scrambled eggs or pear and gorgonzola salad, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. This lil gem of a place should be a must on your to-do-list.
